Backend work in the Danish tax domain

What the work is, the architecture examinations I passed in November 2025 and October 2026, and how an occupational therapist came to write Java. I am open to a backend role in Copenhagen, or remote inside Denmark.

The work

I develop and maintain backend services for reporting systems in the Danish tax domain.

The rules come from legislation. They are not mine to negotiate and they are settled before the ticket is written, so the difficulty sits elsewhere: being sure the system does exactly what the rule says, and being able to show that it did, months later, for one specific case.

Much of it is on code that is already in production. Version upgrades, dependency migrations, CVE remediation. The rest is refinement, code review, and working out what a requirement actually means before anyone builds it.

Certification

I passed the System Architecture Practitioner Examination in October 2026, under Dansk IT Architecture Certification. Verify the Practitioner certificate.

Certification at Practitioner level requires a pass at Foundation. I passed the IT Architecture Foundation Examination in November 2025, under the same programme. Verify the Foundation certificate.

How I got here

I worked as an occupational therapist until 2020, after a professional degree at Københavns Professionshøjskole from 2015 to 2018. The job is about what a person can manage day to day: getting out of bed, cooking a meal, going back to work.

I took an MSc in Software Design at the IT University of Copenhagen between 2020 and 2023.

Writing

Good Tests Are Hard to Vary argues that a test should be strict about the rule it protects and relaxed about everything else, worked through two versions of one Spock specification.
